138 spot welds (sorry this got long)
Mech. is 98.9% finished but waiting on the Lotto Wins to do the body.
Current has some rust at bottom of doors and the cowl vent is not there at all (LOL)
We have replaced the trunk lid with the "duck-tail" one and plan to replace the hood with a 3 inch cowl type from Mustang Plus, the color has not chosen yet.
The interior (planned) will have SN95 front seats with 3 point safety belts..now the SN95 seats will have an unusual effect to them which I can't disclose on an open forum..someone will use it..LOL
So there are plans in the works I just know what I want to do and how to do it (except that damn cowl) so I have little questions to ask in the Forums.
We do need a Money Forum here at M&M that would help..LOL!!!
Interior will come out (already started) this summer and be re-done.
Ron it is a "lifetime Project" which is to be passed on to the Grand Daughter (sons).
I do drive it about once a month and fire it up weekly, traffic is so bad there's little enjoyment in a Cruise. If I do go out its early Sunday A.M. not much to talk about there unless a Minivan with Mom & Dad with 2.5 kids in it wants to race (happened and I gave him hell for it too.
As for showing the 68 I'm not really into that as they are too long and time consuming for me,low attention factor here,Beside the 1st show I put her in 1997 she took 1st place..don't get excite I was the only one in my class and I hate trophies with a passion
RELATED STORY:
See back in late '94 the son turned 16 and as promised (the daughter got a GLX Mustang for school) we agreed to give him $3000 for a car.He found a 1968 Mustang 200 cid 3 speed for $1500 bought it & with the remaining $1500 he done the Mech and body work & paint. Also in this time frame my Brother bought a 68 Convertible (still has it) so What the heck in Sept 95 Peg bought me the 68 Fstback..we had them all sorta speak
In Nov of '95 Peg traded her '91 Mustang Convertible in on her current 95 Lazer red Vert, the son who worked after school and weekends at a local Tire & Wheel Co just down the road had save a bunch of money up and went to the dealership we use (Bowditch Ford in Newport News Va) and The sales Manager, who by then was a family friend, gave him choice of any New 1995 V6 Mustang (leftovers) on the lot for $11,000.he picked a Teal blue 3.8,5speed..sweet and he still has it along with a 67 he dropped a K code spec engine into.
Last offer on the '68 was $4000 cash and a '89 Vette but she tied up in the WILL
LOL..you won't believe this but a knock at the door and this fellow who's building a 69 want to buy it for his daughter..LOL...she'd get killed in this 350+hp monster.
I think it can be best summed up as "a toy" that I play with when the mood strikes..it will never be sold,as I have said to many who have asked "Its priceless to me"
