...that we here at M&M as a community adopt a resolution to support our troops that are placing themselves in harm's way to preserve our freedom and liberate the Iraqi people.

Regardless of our own personal feelings of the validity of the military action, this resolution merely gives thanks to the many men and women doing the dirty work in this action and pledges our support.

Even though our country has been in battles that myself or others have not agreed with, I wholeheartedly support our TROOPS (some of which are my friends today) who take on one of the hardest and most honorable duties anyone could ever face -- defend not just themselves but nearly the futuer of the entire world

It would be great to put together an official resolution from M&M and send it to our troops..

That should be realistic..

I agree. So, we should do this in a formal way, maybe? How do we do this? Vote? Send the results to someone? Who? Post the results on the main page?

IMHO some kind of a vote should be taken, if you want to speak, as you say, as a community to adopt a resolution.

Oh say can you see?
By the dawn's early light...
What so proudly we hailed?
By the twilight's last gleaming...
Whose broad stripes and bright stars?
Through the perilous fight...
O're the ramparts we watched...
Were so gallantly streaming...
And the rocket's red glare...
The bombs bursting in air...
Gave proof through the night...
That our flag was still there...
Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave?
O're the land of the free...
And the HOME OF THE BRAVE...

Thanks to all the selfless military personnel who have risked or given their lives to all current and past noble causes.
We are the GREATEST COUNTRY ON EARTH because you help keep it that way....P. Tucker
