I finally get to meet my good friend Ian, he has done the unthinkable......

Come to the barren wasteland, and should be getting ahold of me anytime

I am really looking forward to finally meeting him

He has also opted to bring the right vehicle, and so i also get to see the "Pace Car"

I cant wait to meet him

Cool, when you see him, ask him to swing by Kamloops on the way home and we'll meet for coffee somewhere. If he happens to swing by on the 15th, he can enter Hot Nights here.

Make sure you have plenty of cold beer in the fridge for Ian , if you don,t it could get ugly , some tequila will also keep him happy.

I'm here!!! It's been a little more interesting day than originally planned. I was having some problems with the float adjustment on the carb so Ed and I went to adjust it and get things set. Turns out the threads in the bowl were stripped. Crap. It also just happens to be that this is a 600 cfm Holley off of a 1970 351C, and the bowl is quite unique. After Ed kindly ferried me all over town to try and find another one we ran out of luck... so inginuity came into play. We took a bowl off of another carb that Ed had and jerry-rigged up a system that seems to work great! M&M members come though in a pinch!!! Yahoo!!!!

We're back in business, and Ed is as friendly a fellow in real life as he is online... really glad to have finally met him in person. It wasn't the way we planned on spending our time together, but we had a lot of fun, and even got out for dinner with Tracy. Poor Corrine got to sit around and watch as Ed and I tinkered with the Mustang.

Anyhow, I'm catching flac for writing a book, so I had better go and find a hotel for the night. We're having a GREAT trip, and hopefully I'll be able to give another update in a few days. See ya folks!!

It was definatly a cool deal, although as Ian had pointed out just not quite the way we had hoped to hang out.

It would have been nicer if we were working on a car that did not have to get back on the road to complete another 1000 miles the very next day (stress), but in the end it all worked out fine and I hope that it is still working out ok for him.

Ian was pretty much what i had thought, an all around awesome guy (just wish we had longer to hang out) and Corrine is a very patient person having to hang out at my redneck mansion for hours on end while ian and I tried to get the car back together.

She is very cool and Ian has definatly hit the jackpot with her

Like any other time that i have met one of our members, I am left trying to figure out how i can hook up with them again, so we can hang out a little more.

It was really great to meet Ian and Corrine in person for the first time, and look forward to meeting all of you someday soon

I agree with Ed, (that is a first) Ian and Corrine are great people. It was very nice to meet them. I had a good time and look forward to doing it again someday.

Take Care!

Aw shucks!! Thanks Ed, it really was great hanging out with you guys. The car is working great now!!! No leaks or problems... thanks again. I think that I left that transfer tube on your bench though.

Having a great time... we're in Regina now, and will be heading towards Banff/Calgary tomorrow. Should be more fun... if the rain would stop.

Hope that all is well!!

Cheers,
Ian

Glad you guys had a good time, even if it was doing "necassity work" on a mustang.

Someday I hope to meet more folks from here as well.
