Driving the Pony down there and back from Philly.....Saturday was torrential rain until 3PM, then windy and cold....
Sunday, sunny, windy and cold...some nice cars, and great people...but so many trailer queens !!!! And some cars, so "Undriveable" once they got off the trailer...456 Spools, over heating after 3 blocks in 50 degree weather...etc...made me proud I built a 13 second (soon to be 12.99) driveable, pretty, street car, that drove the 100 and some miles at a steady 165 degrees with 52 lbs of oil pressure and about 3500 RPM's (with my lowly 3.55 gears)....with waves and horn blowings and thumbs up the whole way...
Is it just me....I say...build 'em to drive 'em....for me the Pony is a "Time Machine"...I'm back in the late 60's early 70's, full head of hair, not a care in the world and listening to the "Young Rascals"...
Even had a yuppie in a New Porsche Carrera, give me a thumbs up on HiWay 1 in DE...
Traffic was clear...we both "Goosed It" and he pedaled it when we got to 3 figures...nothing like seeing an $80,000 car in your rear view mirror...
AAHHHH !!!! Youth is wasted on the young !

Eddie,
Sounds like you had a blast on the road. Enjoy the Mustang. Like you said, Build it to drive it and enjoy. I couldn't agree with you more.

. I can't believe I had to miss it this year. I've gone every year for the last 3 or 4. But I had finals this year so I couldn't make it. I was upset. I don't miss the weather, but I do miss checking out all of the old customs....

Hey Paison ,

I agree with you , mustangs were made to be driven , not made to look like Tammy-fay Baker , and , put on a trailer. Build them drive them , break them , fix them , drive them , and , have fun

Hey Eddie you right about that.Take it off the trailer and drive it.I understand using a trailer once in awhile for maybe a long haul. But once there park that trailer and drive drive drive.I wish I could have gone on that cruise too. Then you could have seen my big *** scoop in your mirror too.
Theres a guy in Reno that has a great Mustang,it's dam fast and killer looking. But like you said he cant drive it more then a 1/4 mile. And it's a street car.

Somewhere along the line in this "Hobby" (OBSESSION), I found out you have to decide whether you want a good, reliable, pretty fast
car to drive......or a race car...I know I'll get arguments from some with 10 second street cars, and my hat is off to you..
I've seen a lot of guys pour money into a car and actually over build it...and they don't become serious racers...and are kind of stuck with a car that doesn't fill either need...I have a good friend who has over 30 grand into a car (I won't mention) just in case he logs on here, although he's not a member...and it is incapable of handling the horse power he has.
I think you have to build a car from the back to the front....
It's great that most of our members are drivers......
