This morning on the way home from work ( I work 10:00 pm to 7:00 am) about 1 mile from my house I had an accident. I fell asleep while driving & went off the road & hit a mid sized tree. Fortunatly I just have a bruise on my face (thanks to the air bag is was not worse) & some body soreness (so far). Unfortunatly my Ranger might be a total loss. The insurance company has to look at it to see if it repairable or if I will looking for another truck. I was supprised the insurance company said the accident will NOT raise my rates due to the fact no one else was involved, because it was a 1 car accident. I am soooo depressed, it could have been much worse. I am also very grateful to the several people who stopped to see if I was ok. That made me fell a little better to know some people still do care. Very sorry for the long post. ------------------ Mike & Robin 65 Mustang Fastback 69 Mustang Coupe 87 LTD CV 96 Ranger Extd Cab PU 99 Explorer Sport M&M #- 890 MCA #- 4549 www.mike65.mustangsandmore.ws

Mike really sorry to hear about your accident, but it is a good thing you are alright. At least the insurance co. will take care of the car. There is a saying I hear all the time. Don't Sweat the Small Stuff! Take Care of yourself.

The best part is you're ok. Sheet metal can be replaced, lives cannot. Look at it as a good day ,cause if you were gone it would have been a lot worse. Good luck and take life easy. RAY------------------ RAY, THE WISE A@@ PHILLY GUY!! 70 MACH1 408C 4SPD. 86 CAPRI 5.0 5SPD.

Ouch, Mike! Like the others said though, it can be viewed as a VERY, VERY, VERY good day because you suffered only minor injuries (so far as you can tell) and nobody else was involved or hurt. Hey, look at it this way, it was an exciting ride and you slept through most of it! (Sorry, bad humor)Seriously though, you're alive, you walked away from it, and nobody else was hurt. I'm glad you're ok. It's unfortunate your poor Ranger got smooshed. Maybe you can upgrade to a F-150! Stewart

I'm relieved you are physically mostly unhurt. Sorry about the Ranger, but maybe things will work out to your advantage - we can always hope. As another night shift worker, I can relate. Had to pull over more than once and give myself a slap to wake up!We bought a 65 FB a few years back that a night shift nurse wrapped around a tree. She was hurt pretty badly - no airbag! Take it easy on yourself Mike! Stewart - you are the eternal optimist! We need you around here! Joyce [This message has been edited by 66HIPO&more (edited 04-10-2002).]

Mike, As has already been stated, you had a good day. You had an accident and you were able to walk away from it. That is a lot more than some folks can say. The truck can be fixed or replaced. You CAN NOT be replaced. At least not yet, but the gene science is getting close to being able to clone you. Rest up and get rid of the aches. Then find another truck to drive to work. Things will all work out for you, Mike. Sorry to hear about your sh!tty day , but , you walked away from it , and , that makes it a great day. I am happy for that. The ranger can be replaced , your life can not. Extra coffee and windows down from now on when it is time to go home , or , pull over and take a 15 minute nap. That is what I did when I worked night shift many years ago at another job, just remember to have an alarm clock with you for that 15 minute wake up call. Working the overnight shift is tough, I know all about it, worked 11 to 7 for 17 years, fell asleep at the wheel several times, lucky I never crashed, I did get a speeding ticket while sleeping, the cop said I passed the Corvette he was going after, funny, I didn't recall even seeing a Vette????? Spooky ain't it? Glad you're okay.

Damn Mike you are one lucky SOB You could be a goner or on the side of the road for days and no one find you. Here in the southland we have areas that if you crash and hit a tree like that when the people come by to check on you they usually take your wallet, battery and the good tires if there are any Just thought I'd try and cheer you up with some laughs. Glad you are OK
