On Sunday LuAnn and I got up early to hit the mall and finish our Christmas shopping. We had to kill some time before a certain business opened so we were window shopping while we waited. As we walked by "Best Buy", LuAnn turned to me and said "Want to get an X-Box?" How can you not love this woman? Needless to say, we did. For all you gamers out there, this thing is incredible. The detail is amazing and the action of the characters is almost scary. If anybody else gets one let's swap recommendations on the games. For now, Gotham Racing and Oddworld are VERY cool. Stay away from Shrek.

I got one for my son for X-mas. I hooked it up briefly to make sure it worked and tried Project Gotham Racing. I have an old 25" TV and even with that old thing it was awesome! I hated to put it away but come Christmas Day we'll start logging plenty of hours with it. I got OddWorld and Tony Hawk 2 for him too, along with a second controller and the DVD Kit. Have you tried any movies on it yet? How's the playback? I've heard its as good as a standalone DVD player but time will tell. Have fun!

good idea to see if it worked. My friend just bought one and had problems with it. The store would not honor a retern. He had to contact Microsoft.

I bought a Gamecube...don't need another DVD player in the house, and saved myself $100.

Hearing a lot about the Xbox crashing...watch out guys. Good ol' M$.

That game Halo looks really cool though.

Yep, I'm a die hard PS2er since last Xmas... Not to knock XBOX, but I'm sure Gotham Racing can't hold a candle to Gran Turismo 3. My brother is buying the Gamecube soon so we'll see!

PS - My "parental control" for the PS2 DVD player always resets... what am I doing wrong?
