Some of you might remember awhile back when I asked if anyone had a source of info on the original 50 68 428 CJs built for the 68 Winternationals, well now I'll tell you why. We had received word that one of the originals would be sold at a Master Commisioners Sale, fancy name for a bank repop, in Franklin Ky on Dec 11 at the Kirby Auto Auction. Went and looked at it over Thanksgiving and found a rolling chassis with the balance of the parts in a trailer. The 428 block was not correct, D1 rods and low compression pistons. Kevin Marti confirmed the numbers. The car was shipped to Tasca in Providence, but did not have a race history. Well, me and Tennessee brother in law thought the car would bring about $7500. Boy, were we wrong, $19000. A man from Connecticut bought it. After talking to him, turns out that he has another original, supposedely the Original Tasca Car. What people will pay when they want something. I was stretching at $7500. There were buyers from about 15 different states. I'll keep my Kcode coupe and be happy. Mike

I have 2 rolling chasis' already, 1 65 fastback, & 1 69 Coupe. There is always room for another one, but not at $19,000.00. Just think of all the parts that could be purchased for a ll that money. ------------------ Mike & Robin 65 Mustang Fastback 69 Mustang Coupe 87 LTD CV 96 Ranger Extd Cab PU 99 Explorer Sport M&M #- 890 MCA #- 04549
