Is Ford making all the new cars use 5w-20 oil. From what I understand this weight is new and I can't get it in synthetic yet. Why the switch and are the 2002 GT's using it also?
Thanks for any info.

I've read over at M. World (I think) that Ford is doing it to please the tree huggers. Might want to go ask where all the late model guys hang out.

Amsoil has a 5W-20 synthetic available in their XL-7500 line (good for 7,500 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first). They also have their line of synthetic oil filters, which are good for 6 months between changes too. Their site is www.amsoil.com.

If you become a preferred customer for $10.00 per year (you can do either this or the other option below online from their website), you can order at dealer prices. For $20.00 per year you can become a full dealer, which gets you the cheaper pricing and access to their technical support staff, which in my experience has been very good. In an order or two either option pays for itself in the cost savings. You can also order online, charge it to your credit card, and have it shipped to your home.

I only use it for myself (have been for over 8 years) and don't push the selling aspect of it, but I'm a big advocate for their products. If you need what they call a ZO# to sign up for either of the options noted above, feel free to reference mine, #501548.

Good luck............
