Repro quality is generally terrible compared to NOS or Ford replacement parts. I will never buy another repro part is I can help it.

not always terrible. But the smaller companies don't have Fords huge markups.

It depends on what your goal is, if you want to refurbish your car back to its original condition for showing, you need original parts. And since Ford hasn't made these parts in years, the rule of supply and demand comes in to play.I have a 66 coupe that I refurbished, the price difference between OEM and Reproduction would have probably added about 4K over what I spent. Since I wasn't looking at bringing the car back to original I used repro parts, and depending on where you buy them they can either be terrible or as good as OEM. Ask anybody who has seen my car if they can tell the difference, every piece of chrome was replaced. I recommend Restore Mustangs because of their free shipping and the great quality of their products. They liked my car so much, which was redone using 90% of their parts they adopted it for their logo: It's all about what YOU WANT YOUR CAR TO BE!!

I never buy repro if I can help it, either. The difference is dramatic. The best example I can think of is fender aprons. On my Sprint, I have three new repros and one NOS. The NOS one is as thick as what was on the car, .043" while the repros are .028". The repros feel like tin foil next to the NOS panel. Also, when I stripped the black paint on the repros to prep them for painting, they mill scaled {started to rust} immediately, while the NOS panel didn't.I even try to get used panels instead of repros. I just bought a used upper cowl panel for my Mach, and I don't even know if repros are available.
