Am I stupid? I ordered some parts from Mustang Parts Specialties online, (www.stangparts.com) and I expected them to work. Now Im not a Rocket Scientist but heres what happened.

I ordered for my 93 a used Power Mirror Control Switch and a used GT combination Headlamp/Fog Lamp Switch. Now I realize that these are used, but I EXPEXT THEM TO AT LEAST WORK!!!! I called up Mustang Parts Specialties, long distance of course, no 1-800 number, and they said sorry, too bad so sad!!!!!

Whats up with that??

Is this what customer service has come too? Im looking at spending hundreds of dollars and they wont give me store credit for a $30.00 switch?

Im taking my business for my THREE Mustangs elsewhere.

Am I Stupid?

Just tell them that I was really excited when I found thier website. I thought I had found a place to buy used reliable parts for my car, especially interior parts, then they screwed me. I'll pay FULL price somewhere else now just to make a point.

Burn me once, shame on you.
Burn me twice, shame on me.

Thanks,

Rob

Rob, check out my reply in the Foxbody forum. Also, I just remembered this place: http://www.50resto.com/

Check them out. I haven't done business with them, but I saw where a member over at the MustangGT board (David and Kathy Bowers place...she's a member here too) listed the website in his post.

That does suck . Even at a pick-n-pull you pay like $2 more and you get full insurance that the part works or you get an exchange.

Are these parts already obsolete,on a car only 8 years old? How much more would it be for new parts?

really Tim?

Around here you pay their price on the assumption it works and get a credit if it doesn't... if you wanna gamble on a suspect part its cheaper.

Seems to be lotsa businesses willing to sell stuff they either know won't work or haven't even tried.... or care.

Every used part I've bought came with a moneyback guarantee. But electrical parts are different. Even new electrical parts aren't returnable at most auto parts stores. When I worked at a parts store they told me that it was because people used to bring them back fried when they were done playing the 'maybe it's this part' game.

Man that sucks, these guys are less than 100 miles from me and I've heard good things about them, I will consider this thread before buying from them.

Good News!! I received a refund from Mustang Parts Specialties.

I dont know if it was from the e-mail I sent them, the posts from the boards or that they felt guilty.

I don't know why any business would risk losing a customer and potentially hundreds if not thousands of future dollars that that customer will spend if he is treated right the 1st time he does business at that place(any place).
