I would've posted this in the Thunderbird forum, but I couldn't find that!

Does anybody know when exactly the new T-birds are supposed to start production (if they haven't already)? I understand there's going to be a limited number of models and all, but when are they/did they begin production?

They came out and they had an overheating problem, 6 motors blew. They stopped production until they found a fix for them. It was a problem with the cooling fan mtr. Our Lincoln LS were also put on hold because the t-bird is built on the LS platform and shared the same fan. They released the 2002 Lincoln Ls last friday so I would think they release the T-Bird also.

the T-Birds are just too much money in my opinion!
They look kinda cool but I dont like the attempts at retro style cars - the 49 is alright, better than the T-Bird, but its still a new car under its whole shell (plastic, fake chrome, etc....)
arent the T-Birds goin for $40,000????
Sorry Ford, not this time!
have a good one

Not to worry. Production is sold out before it begins. Would love to have one. The black one with red and dark grey interior and black canvas style top is outstanding!

Yeah, they're out! I saw a yellow one on the way down to Atlanta, and I saw a black Neiman-Marcus version at Koons Ford in Annapolis. It's on the showroom floor. $41k for that one. It's purrrty tho. The guy that ordered that one has been waiting for almost 2 years they said.

No kidding? I was just down that way today. Ah heck, in a couple weeks, I'll be back down that way EVERY day.

I would've expected Bob Bell Ford up in Glen Burnie to get those in sooner than Koons...seeing that they're SVT authorized, and a Saleen/Roush dealer. Maybe they do...I haven't been in a showroom lately.

It just showed up between Tuesday and Friday. I was up there Tuesday night, and it wasn't there, but it was there Friday mid-day (see Associated new post).
