If we didn't have taxes to pay and support our country, perhaps we would be like all the countries who ask us for support and never "pay-back"...I wouldn't like to be a "dead-beat" country. As long as we are able, we should be proud to pay our taxes and if not too happy at times, it's better than living in another country... AMERICA ROCKS !!! Stand up and cheer !!!

I feel the same way. I was just joking. I heard a customer say to a salemen in our Dealership,"it's a free country isn't it" and it just struck me funny when I thought about it. OK don't you all head this way at once now!No sales tax for Mat-Su By S.J. Komarnitsky Anchorage Daily News (Published: October 3, 2001) Wasilla -- Mat-Su voters got a fourth chance in 10 years to pass a borough sales tax Tuesday, and for the fourth time No.votes outnumbered yes by more than 2 to 1. In the three previous tries, the closest the sales tax came to passing was in 1993 when a proposed three percent sales tax failed by less than 50 votes out of nearly 9,000 cast. _____________________________________________ No state Income or sales tax either. And then there is this. _____________________________________________ The PFD One of the most unusual aspects of Alaska's Permanent Fund is the dividend program, which distributes a share of Fund earnings to every Alaska resident each year. Yup freedom really means having liberty. But we can Have it because some people paid a very high price. Some times the ultimate price. So it is not cheap and certainly not free. As far as paying taxes. I do it. I dont mind it. I am upset that the people that pay NO taxes will out number the taxpayers by the time of out next election. So from now on the elections will be like Canada and England. The socialist that divide americans into groups and promise each group other peoples tax dollars will win. Then we will be on a fast down hill slide with no possible botton in site. Then I will stop paying taxes. peace Lyle
