Is it a good idea to do a half fill on a mild street motor? Any cooling problems? What do you need to do to prep the block for such a thing?

So from what I read then probably isn't really needed for mild street motor? Don't know if this motor will ever see over 5500rpm.

Actually I don't know why, that's basically why I was asking. I'm going .040 over. Block fill is reletively cheap and so I thought if there were some benefits to it even for a mild street motor I'd look into doing it. Basically it was just one of those, should I do it now while I have the chance sort of things.

Fill it.
It will keep the bores round and you will have the best ring seal you ever had.

Cool Alex, I finally have all of the parts to get this motor to the machine shop. I think I'll fill the motor and drop it off Monday.

This motor, being a temporary deal, is part experiment and part budget. I'm trying a lot of new things (new to me) that are low cost or free and buying parts as low as possible whenever possible. I'll evaluate how things work out and I'll apply what I learn to the stroked W when the time comes.
