well my cam questions are solved, i ordered the 32-238-4 cam from Compcams ,238/238dur and 570/570 lift for the Cleveland.. so thanx for that!!

But has anyone ever used a Proform carb-body to upgrade your flow from 600 to 750cfm???? i might get my hands on a cheap 650vs Holley..
or is it better to buy a new carb????

Ben

I have one and really like it so far. But I don't think it works for the 600CFM carbs only 650 and up. See the following threads.

thats correct, the base and butterfly size is different on the 600 compared to the 650-700-750. the proforms are nice and they sure look cool but i dont think you will see any performance gains unless your old carb was really choking the engine.

my carb isn't choking my current engine.. it's gonna choke my new engine, ..i'm switching over from a mild 302 to a cleveland 351 BOSS with a healthy cam..so i need to step up from my current 600cfm vs..

or mayber it's better to just buy a new 750 for the 351??? what carb would you guys use ,a mech.sec. or v.s. ????

in my humble opinion, if it were a street car i would use the vs. but if it is a race car i would use a dp.

Your cam is not large by any means considering the large ports of the cleveland. If it was me I would'nt go with anything smaller than a 750cfm...I like the dp with dropleg boosters but if fuel cost is a problem a vs would work too.As far as used carbs go sometimes they can corode internally then they're pretty much junk.
