I had read that thread, and the fordmuscle article as well

if you could find the part # from an invoice or something on the spring kit i'd really appreciate it. Or if anyone else knows...

The biggest issue is going to be reducing the amount of vacuum advance after removing the EGR valve.

The reason the distributor is setup with so much vacuum advance is because of the EGR's function, reducing Kx gases and lowering the cylinder temp.

Lower cylinder temp means you can add more advance. Likewise, removing the EGR valve is going to increase the cylinder temp therefore the need for less vacuum advance.... or end up with a ping problem.

The EGR and vacuum advance work off the same signal, therefore they work hand in hand together. When the EGR starts opening so does the vacuum advance start advancing and both are open fully at the same time as well.

How you setup you?re distributor is greatly depending on how your going to use the car. A strip setup is not going to get you gas mileage or light throttle response.

what would happen if i just didn't have the line hooked up? Worse milage and ehxaust fumes? Is the stock one adjustable at all?

If i need both the vacuum deal and the springs i could get the crane deal that the fordmuscle article lists.

What are you going to do with the car, street, strip or both? What are you looking to gain and/or not loose?

65% street, 35% strip. The closest strip is a couple hrs away and, for now, it will be driven there and raced. A track is supposed to be made somewhere closer in the next few years, but not sure how close.

I want a bruiser for the street, and something that will knock down consistant times at the track, doens't need to be way fast, although high 12's are what my goal was, lower with a power adder such as a small blast of nitrous

planned mods are listed here

Well, if your looking for a setup that will help you on the street for mileage and around town throttle response then look at the link below.

For the track just lock the timing down at whatever works best without the vacuum advance.
