I'm not 100% sure, but I really think my secondaries aren't opening. I've tried blocking them off, doing that thing with a zip ties, paper clip....Basically, none of that worked good, so the secondaries aren't opening. Is there a way to adjust them without changing springs? How can I fix this?

Is it a holley carb? When you put the ties or clip on the vacumm advance rod, make sure it's snug to the bottom of the vacuum housing. And dont make the tie or clip real tight.Change the spring to the lighest one.If it's not working at all.I'd first remove the cover and make sure the rubber diaphragm is lined up with the vacuum hole in the housing. And make sure it's not cracked or torn.2nd I'd remove the housing from the carb amd make sure the small gasket between the housing and the carb is still there. ------------------ SCOOP 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

Before opening anything up, try taking the vac. can off the carb and suck the small hole to see if it pulls the rod up. I have seen a few where the check ball is stuck and blocking the hole inside. Also the diaphragm could be damaged as Scoop says. What engine is this on? What intake/cam etc? Reason I ask is I used to have a hot 289 with Torker, big cam etc and it couldn't open the secondaries. Nothing wrong, just couldn't use the flow and went just as fast (slow) with or without the secondaries! HTH Cheers Martin.
