Will this be okay for a little while? My 351W is completely stock, but I plan upgrades in the future- new heads, cam. It still has the 2 barrel and I want to upgrade to a 4 barrel carb. Because of the future plans for the engine (in like a year or so) I would rather go with the RPM rather than the stander performer. But is this waaayyy too much intake for the stock heads and cam to even run for like a year? Oh yeah, and on a side note what are differences between Hooker Super Comps and regular Competition headers- as I am in the market for exhaust along with this conversion? In my opinion, the RPM will work fine with a stock 351, just don't over do it on the carb size, an 1850 Holley, 600 cmf would work good. As far as the headers go, I'll probably get bashed for this, if its for just a street cruiser and not trying to extract every ounce of HP from the motor, the Super comps are not worth the extra $200. The Comps are made of thicker tubing and will last longer on a street car, they just don't have all of the precision built into them like the Super Comps. Which ever way you go, do the Ceramic coating. ------------------ Mike Golliver MCA Gold Card Judge-Modifieds 65 Kcode coupe 347 stroker modified 5-speed MCA Retired 66 convertible-3 dueces and a 5-speed with a 289 89 T-Bird Super coupe 01 Mustang GT Convt

Mike,I wouldn't even go that far, the heddman cheapo 1 5/8 primary headers work fine on a mild 351w. They're about $120. SteveW

Also,The rpm is a great intake, it'll grow with your engine and the dual plane design will work well with a stocker and with a "built" engine later. Good luck, SteveW

thanks guys. The only reason I'd want comps over hedmans steve is so I don't have to buy headers twice. Kcode, thats what I thought about the Competitions- since their thicker they should last longer. On a 400HP at most car (in the future) I don't think I need the extra tuning for $200 on the super comps I'm excited to get started with my first engine buildup Paul ------------------ 1970 Grande H code 351W FMX

Paul I run the RPM on a stock well used 351w.I love it,I went from a 2 barrel to a 600 holley and the RPM.My motor is a high milage stock 351w.It made a big difference, both the mid range and top end.I shift around 4800rpm.I think it's a great intake, but I would go with the new Air gap RPM. I'd stay the 600cfm Holley until you get a bigger cam and better heads.------------------ SCOOP 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html
