Topic: New race track in Fernley NV,I hope ?

They built a track in fernly about two years ago.But then ran out of money.And no one wanted to take it over.Well they started doing some roundy round racing out there.And this small motor sports shop in town.Took on the task of trying to get the drags running too.Right now they have only raced there 3 times.The guy who runs it told me.They get anywhere from 40-150 cars each time.It goes from 6pm friday night until when ever.He said they have not gone past 1:am yet. 
They only run a 900 foot track with no timers and no tree yet.The guy said he hopes to have the timers and the tree by mid summer.They are also going to start running a 1/4 mile track when they get the timers and tree.Right now there is just a red,and green light.And a win light at the end of the track.For those who dont know the area.Fernly is about 30-40min east of Reno off hwy 80.
I'm hoping to go out there and check it out on the 25th.It's $25 dollar to race.I was hoping just to go and play alittle somewhere I wont get a ticket. 
I really hope they get it all done this time.I'd would love to go racing every other friday night.------------------

the 25 dollars sure beats the price of a ticket from officer friendly ...Sounds like fun here in spokane it is $6.00 to race and $5.00 to watch on friday night and they go until 3:00 am or 4:00 am here and there are alot of cars that go even ricers and stock ricers yahwn.sigh. But we still have a blast..Bruce

Bruce the $25 seemed alittle high to me.But the guys at the speed shop told me they have to rent the track for the day.Pay for the insurance,lights,ect.
They also told me that it's about half ricers there out there.
But your darn right $25 is far better then a ticket.

No Steve they are no longer in Reno.Cool shop and good guys but thats going back many years. It's these guys IV Motorsports at:
775.331.6577 I've never heard of them before.
I sure hope it all works out.I'd love to start racing every week next spring-summer.They are just testing water to see how people they can get out there.They are hoping that Summit Racing will step up and help them out alittle too. ------------------

Yea they had that sign out front for a long time.It said "Steve please come back and buy more parts". ------------------
