Everybody says "get gears, they're the best bang for the buck (besides nitrous) if you've already gotten the other small stuff (improved intake and exhaust)." Well, I do believe everybody, but I've been playing around on some desktop dyno or similar software. I realize that this computer crap is not real world, but it has to be at least a ballpark estimate on improvements. Well, on this stuff, when I switch from 2.79s to 3.55s, it shows -.4 E.T. on the quarter mile. Considering gears are gonna cost like $600, is this as good as a "bang" for that "buck" that I can get? By the way, here's the gears I'm considering, are they any good? http://www.andale.com/stores/sf_itemHome.jsp?foo=bar&sid=172860&cid=10461892&l id=47313491&mode=1 ------------------ '67 coupe: 289 bored .030 over, c-4 tranny Holley 600 carb, edelbrock performer intake, hooker comp headers, dual flowmaster exhuast [This message has been edited by streetstang67 (edited 06-29-2003).] [This message has been edited by streetstang67 (edited 06-29-2003).]

.4 improvement is a lot.The fun factor is worth it alone. When I went from 2.79 gears to 3.40 traclok it was by far the best bang for my buck YET. Mine car accelerates better from any speed now. I'm going to try and find some 3.80 gears next.------------------ SCOOP 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

Ask any racer if they could pick up .4 for $600 they would all jump at the chance.I personally love the 4:11 in mine and never will look back and wish I had something else.
