I decided to go to the mustang show (KK wanted to go regardless). So, I gave the car a bath before we left, and we arrived fairly early. I got entered into "modified".
There were around 100 judged mustangs there, and another 40 or 50 that were "display only". It was a real good turnout of cars.

When the awards were given, low and behold my racecar that had about one hours worth of cleaning got second place. How cool is that!!!!!!! My first car show, and I came home with a plaque.

we had SOOOO much fun! AND made an incredibly cool entrance because we had to park the lightning and the trailer across the way from the show site, off-load the stripper and drive it across the street and down aways to get into parking lot....

talk about getting a ton of attention.... heh heh..... everyone there walked over to the the curb across the street and watched us unload and drive over...... it was great fun!!!!

i highly recommend taking your stripper out on the town now and then.... she will thank you for it!! heh heh

we pulled together some photos and track plaques and displayed them on a table that i covered in purple felt cloth, then put a little info on a greaseboard i borrowed from the office .... and we put a framed panoramic pic of a massive burn-out (a real good one!) on the cowling so it was easy to see ..... those things got a lot of looks and encouraged a LOT of conversation...... it was a blast!!

now we are tired .... ready for a big meal ...... and a nap!!

No worries KV. I'm just playing with you. It was funny. Glad you won a trophy and had a lot of fun. You aren't the only one that got a little crispy yesterday. Carole, John, Jim, Terri and I all drove down to Edenton, North Carolina for the Chrome Pony Mustang Show. We had a lot of fun, talked with a lot of folks about stangs, M&M, and finding parts. We all brought home a trophy. But the best part was the cruise home.

KK,
The display you two set up sounds awesome. I'm suprised that you two didn't get the Best Display trophy. Car shows are a lot of fun if you don't take them seriously. We go to support other car clubs and thier charities. If we get a trophy out of the deal it's gravy. If not, we had a lot of fun.

The part I thought that was almost as enjoyable as winning the plaque was watching the two judges as they tried to figure out how to judge my car. They were a couple of older gentleman, and I'm sure they haven't had to judge many honest to goodness racecars before. They would look at the car, then look at thier sheets, then look back at the car, then get this strange look on thier faces and look back at thier sheets..... it was real comical. It was almost as if they were thinking "What are we going to do with this??"

All of the guys that were we talked to that were part of the hosting club were very nice, and constantly thanked us for coming out.

KV,
I can almost see the two older gents faces, frought with confussion. Judging isn't easy and if you have a car that doesn't fit in with the judging sheets, your lost.

Lets see, we start off with the body and paint, interior, hhhhmmmm....nothing on the sheet about a roll cage and seat harness....what happened to the headliner and the other seats. Were is the radio and light switch. ROTFLMAO!!!

You must have had a good laugh!

Thanks.

And what you don't know is she couldn't find your cell phone number so she called Alex on his cell phone while he was at the track to get your number.
