I have a alittle stumble when I let off the gas. The car starts and runs good.Except when I acc,or let off the gas.Below 3000rpm the seems to stumble just a very alittle, and then again if I let off the gas.I was thinking about jetting up.I have checked and adjusted the idle mixture and the floats and accel, rod. The plugs only have color and the 1st thread. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

From the symptoms you describe (if I understand correctly) you need slightly more accelerator shot to cure the stumble on acceleration and a little less jet to cure the over-rich stumble as you roll off the gas. I'm sure more replies are on their way! Cheers, Martin.

#31 now Mike,I tired a #35 squiter it seem to make it worst. But I'll try it again. So bigger squiter and smaller jets?

If the bigger squirter made it worse *on acceleration* then try a smaller squirter. Too lean AND too rich can both give a stumble so do not always assume that it must be lean. HTH Cheers, Martin.

So far all I've done is lower the front floats alittle and raise the rear alittle. It seems to have helped for some reason. I'll try a smaller and larger squirter next and see which one makes the car run better.

Last summer I took the 750 vac secondary carb off my old Windsor race motor and stuck it directly on my truck's 460. It had a heck of a miss when I first nailed the gas. Everyone told me "more pump shot for that big block". I did and that didn't help. Finally one of my buddies watched the truck from behind when I nailed the gas. There was a poof of black smoke...too much pump shot! So I went from number 35 to something like 26-28 and lived happily ever after (BTW a #31 squirter does sound big for your combo)------------------ '68 mustang 351 clevor- 10.92@124 '67 Stang, 351W -11.18@118 '69 351C Torino-14.90@100 '78 Pickup 351W-15.56@88 '79 Pickup 460 ET=??

Just an update I went with the #28 squiter. The motor pulls better below 2500rpm then ever.I can be going along at 5-10mph and floor it.And it will leave about 10 feet of rubber. It never did that before.I also lower the front floats alittle and raise the rear alittle. It seems to have helped for some reason. There is no more stumble and the car runs better. BUT,Above 4000rpm it still feels like theres something missing.Like it should have more power there.I'll start working on my timing next.Work just takes up all my time any more. Now if only my wife would get a better paying job so I could stay home all the time.

....so then you could play with the 30-40K$ of sponsor $$ you'd get from her boss every 6-months; and company-provided a dually-crew cab & A/C'd box trailer to haul the race car back n' forth in....then your life would....have other challenges to face.
