Went racing last night, definitely quicker and way more fun!!!

New time slips:

Reaction --- +.159 (not my best)
60 ft ------ 1.963 (was 2.21)!!!
1/8 ET ----- 8.567
1/8 MPH ---- 82.26
1000' ET --- 11.123
1/4 ET ----- 13.293 (previous best 13.78)!!!
1/4 MPH ---- 103.62 (previous 99.9)!!!

Had to pull my rev limiter chip out (was 6500), was tapping it in 4th and holding my ET down to 13.65. I'm now shifting @ 6200rpm and finishing in 4th @ 6750rpm... I have really "short and sticky" DRs (only 22"). They "hook" OK leaving a 4000rpm, if I heat them up (dry burnout) I get a little wheel hop, but everything will change when I go to 26" ET Streets.

I'm lovin' it, gained .487 secs and have my hands full shifting a lot in the first 400ft but the fun factor has gone up considerably!!! There were 24 cars in the Street DOT class. I made it to the semi's, hitting my dial 13.6 exactly but lost at the tree to his +.011. Got a trophy (whoopee do da...). Thanks for all of your help!

Where do I go now? Want 12's in full "Street trim". Can I go to a 280H cam, would this help?

Robert

A little taller tire might help the ET a bit now too. If it makes it so you can leave harder, then the ET will also drop.

Robert,

It's a high 12 second car once you get it to launch well. Take .3 seconds off the 60'ers and you're there. Time to work on the suspension. 26' et streets, cal tracs, rancho shocks, maybe even some glass mono leaf springs and loosen up the front end.

Thanks guys, it if wasn't for you I wouldn't be in the low 13's. I was running 3.00 in the rear (with a previous best of 13.79), so 4.11 was a big change. I'm going for cal tracs and some 26in ET Streets. I would also like to figure out how to disconnect the sway bar quickly and tie it back so I can put it back in street trim easily.

Bob,

Remove that dead weight from the front of your 'stang. You won't miss it on the drive home.
