I just had my 289 punched out .30 with a RPM performer with hydraulic Crane Cam and lifters tri-y headers with complete factory exhaust. C-4 trans with 3000 stall 650 double pumper HP series carb with 70 jets square. I am running 3.8 gears with drag radials whic are giving me 1.8's 60' and original factory shifter ( just ground nothches deaper so that I wouldn't miss a gear will shifting) Shifting at 5600 Rpm and rpm's at end of 1/4 mile is 5800to6000. Also MSD ignition with original distributor with petronix. Complete pony interior steel syle wheels. I have pictures if you want to I can email them to you. I think this is everything.

Boy, that's really impressive with a pretty mild 289! Have you been running this combo for awhile? Is there a way to post pics of your car so everyone can see it? Hope you get into the 12's soon.

The cam I am running is Part no 130092 crane cam hydraulic energizer and I have no wheel spin I am leaving at 2000 rpm and I am using 14" G-Force 24.2" Diameter drag radials. The guy who did my engine said that he just cleaned up the heads a bit and didn't do much to them. I have been out to the track 3 times this year so I believe I might be able to get better times as soon as I get the frame tied and play with the jets, but I am pretty happy to just run the times I have and win races. I you want to see picture just give me you email I don't know how to post any pictures on this site.

Thanks for the pic. That's a really sharp looking car! What kind of traction bars are those?

Thanks, I like it to the traction bars I made myself out of 3/4" square tubing they stopped the wheel hop and work pretty well.

I never thought these times were that fast, I guess because you always here guys telling me how fast their car would run and mine doesn't compare to what they said their car would run. But I have the slips to back up my runs and I think they are just speculating.
