I just had to remove my drivers side header to get the steering box out. I noticed the collector gasket is blown, so I'll be replacing that, but do I have to replace the gasket that goes between the headers and block?

I would replace the header gasket myself! But i might sugest that you use a copper gasket at the header collector as this will not blow out and it conforms to minor defects

I would use a new gasket, they are cheap and you already have the header off. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

Ditto, also don,t use a cheap brand to save yourself a couple of bucks. Get a good quality gasket put it on and be done with it. A few options are Mr. Gasket ultra seal, Fel-pro or aluminum gaskets. Just my .02 JOHN

I'll get some copper collector gaskets and good header gaskets. All I have to do is scrape the old one off and lay the new one in its place, then bolt it up...is that it?
