Finally stopped raining long enough to get the car back to the track. Ran a best of 8.182 1.73360 ft 84.3mph Car ran real consistant ran 8.20,8.21,8.18, and 8.19. I red-lighted 2nd round Could be much happier with the consistancy Just thought it would pick up a little more old best time was 8.33 1.8360ft 83.2mph I change cams from a crane solid 244/252 @50 553/572 to the 282S shaved 20 off the heads and went from QT pros to slicks. I just thought these changes would get me atleast low 8.0's if not 7.90's

The 'cork' in the system is (as you very well know) the heads. Those heads are only going to make so much power. The new overall combo is actually quite a bit better than the old one... especially if the car was used on the street. You might not notice it that much with the high stall converter, but I'm sure the engine is making MUCH more lower end power, and tons more average power throughout it's rpm range. You went to a smaller cam, and STILL set a new personal mph record your first time out. I'm sure that extra low-end and midrange are what are improving the 60ft times, as I doubt the car was spinning the ET-Streets much (if any). What is your shift point? You might try adjusting to around 6k. Congratulations Jerry. Also, you know that weather conditions will play a huge factor in performance. If the air gets better you'll see even more. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 First SS/MA in the TENS! The shift light is set at 6K. I know the heads are the weak link, on a limited budget so heads are out of the question for a while. I am going to switch to a C4 this winter hoping that will pick up 2 or 3 tenths.

Jerry good runs and at leats the car is running consistant. What are you leaving at,did the slicks cut down wheel spin? You'll be running 7's soon enough. You picked up a 1.1 mph so you have more power. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

Car wasn't spinning with the QT Pros but needed new set of tires so went ahead and got the slicks. I am leaving at 2500.
