As most of you know, I blew up the motor in my car. This is my new plan for a engine build up.- 70 302 block bored .030 - crank cut .010 - reconditioned rods with 190,000 psi tensile strength chrome moly rod bolts - trw forged flat top pistons - a comp 270h cam. 224 degrees of duration at .050 lift and 110 lsa with a .501 gross lift. - double roller timing chain - high volume oil pump - dooe 351 heads with the 1.84 and 1.54 valves milled .020 for a 9.9:1 compression ratio - performer 289 intake - either a 600 or 750 vacuum secondary carb. Which do you think I need I have one of both? - fel-pro gasket set - clevite 77 bearing all around - flowtech headers Can anyone run this combo on a desktop dyno to give me a power estimate? Does this sound like a good combo? The rotating assembly will be balanced. ------------------ 1970 coupe restored with the help of my dad. 302 with 600 holley, aluminum intake, headers, pertonix ignitor 2 with matched coil, lakewood bellhousing, 4-speed toploader, and 2.79 open 8" rear. Soon to be 9" 3.25 trac-lok 1986 f-150, 5.0, factory towing package with original c-6 trans

Thanks Hemikiller, but I think that only works on windows computers, mine is a mac. Does anyone have a link to one for a mac? Can someone run it on theirs for me so that I can get a power estimate, I can't find it for mac anywhere?------------------ 1970 coupe restored with the help of my dad. 302 with 600 holley, aluminum intake, headers, pertonix ignitor 2 with matched coil, lakewood bellhousing, 4-speed toploader, and 2.79 open 8" rear. BL, my uneducated guess would be 300-325 hp at about 5500 rpm. i would try to find a rpm (or similar) intake and dump the performer though. just my opinion, i could be wrong. good luck------------------ mike r racing is real everything else is just a game. 81 capri-7.51 @89mph 1/8 1.54 60 ft. http://prestage.com/site/site_display.asp?SiteID=141

I used the Engine Analyzer 3.0 and with a 600 carb (recommended) you get 273 Brake HP at 5500 and 310 Brake Tq at 4500. This is with a 165 thermostat, minimum 93 octane gasoline and stock WP and fan with no port work on the heads and 10:1 compression ratio. With a 750 carb you get 277/311 but the average HP/Tq stays the same at 165/243. With the Performer RPM and 600 you get 280/317 with 167/248 avg. RPM and 750 gets you 284/318 with 169/247 avg. RPM and 750 causes spark knock around 1500 rpm. Dont know how accurate these numbers are but I just put in what you had listed.

Is brake hp like rear wheel horsepower, or flywheel horsepower? Sweet! 275 rwh isn't to bad for a 302 is it? Does anyone have a guess of what this motor would do in the quarter with my car (70 coupe) with a 4-speed and 2.79 gears? Does anyone have a guess as to what it would run with 3.50's and a trac-lok? They will be the next mod once the motor is done. Drag Racing Analyzer comes back with 14.7 @ 102.16 with the 2.79 and 13.9 @ 102.35 with the 3.55 trac-lock. This is with a 3000 rpm launch at sea level and stock clutch. That's also with "no lift" shifting and a shift time of .4 sec. Change both of those to .8 and "lift" and you get 14.3 @ 97.16 with the 3.55's. Again, I just put in the numbers and this is what came out. I have no idea how reliable this is. The best thing to do is go to the track for real numbers.

I'd say with traction and the 3.55 gears you should run in the low 14's.------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

i ran it on drag max. assuming a weight w/driver of 3100, launch at 3000, shift at 5000, 28in tall tires, 355 gears and an average track. it said 14.54 with a 2.19 60ft time. i forgot to look at the speed.------------------ mike r racing is real everything else is just a game. 81 capri-7.51 @89mph 1/8 1.54 60 ft. http://prestage.com/site/site_display.asp?SiteID=141

hey, i put some 4.56 gears in it. launched at 4000 rpm and shifted at 5500. got you a 12.93 @106mph w/1.84 60ft times. whoo peee!! its easy on the puter. lot harder and more expensive in real life though. have fun.------------------ mike r racing is real everything else is just a game. 81 capri-7.51 @89mph 1/8 1.54 60 ft. http://prestage.com/site/site_display.asp?SiteID=141

One more question for you guys, do DOOE-C windsor heads have hardened seats? If they don't do I need to have them hardened? I wish that real life would let me run 12's in the quarter!------------------ 1970 coupe restored with the help of my dad. 302 with 600 holley, aluminum intake, headers, pertonix ignitor 2 with matched coil, lakewood bellhousing, 4-speed toploader, and 2.79 open 8" rear. if that don't have harden seats then have some put in. Any one can run 12's but it takes a real man to run 14's and post it for all to see. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

One more question, when I have the heads planed .020 will I have to have the intake planed to?------------------ 1970 coupe restored with the help of my dad. 302 with 600 holley, aluminum intake, headers, pertonix ignitor 2 with matched coil, lakewood bellhousing, 4-speed toploader, and 2.79 open 8" rear. probably not. i went to a .030 thinner head gasket which is in essence the same thing as cutting the heat .030. i did have to take a drill bit to the bolt holes on the intake to get them to line up. you will just have to try to bolt it on before you put any sealant on it. if all the bolts start ok then put the sealant on and lock her down.------------------ mike r racing is real everything else is just a game. 81 capri-7.51 @89mph 1/8 1.54 60 ft. http://prestage.com/site/site_display.asp?SiteID=141

For street, I'd use an Edelbrock Performer RPM (regular performer is not much more than a stocker) and a 750 Edelbrock. If you don't mind lashing the valves, the solid lifter version of that cam (270S) would also be a good upgrade.
