Thanks for the comments guys! Keep in mind that was a tame launch with the motor's timing backed off to 28* btdc. It only ran 118 mph, down from its usual 123-125. Will crank it up this Weds for a couple more tests runs. The ride height and ride quality are stock. Although they can be anything you want since they are custom springs. Mike, To quote Mark Twain, "The coldest winter I ever spent was a Summer in SanFrancisco". The track is right on the bay and in a natural wind tunnel. Strong head winds are normal. Look at the flag in the video. SteveW

Very cool Steve I got it to work this time. I can't wait to see what it looks like on an all out run. That SLOW 118mph must seem like a sunday drive now. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

Steve, It looked pretty good to me. You had said the tune was pretty soft and I was just curious how much more you could tightnen the shocks up. I have mine set on 5 with both the front and rear of my leafs clamped and it looks about like yours on launch. ------------------ James 67 Coupe 393W, 4 Speed,

Last wednesday the track prep wasn't good enough to take the stiffer settings. So I backed off to 1-left 2-right. Then it hooked again, but a slick went flat and that was the end of that. Will try again this wednesday. SteveW

SteveW, Are you using your OEM rear spring rear shackles or something different? I'm wondering what, if any, effect longer or shorter shackles would result for weight transfer. Ryan

Ryan,They are aftermarket shackles, but other than adjusting ride height and pinion angles they don't have much affect on weight transfer. And, The car hooked reliably tonight. The track was a typical street night prep and with the shocks set loose (1-2) the car went and ran 1.450-1.459 all night. The light's are more consistant too, but a little too quick. Gotta let some air out of the fronts to slow the reaction time about .040. Next race on Memorial day and the slicks are just about gone. Will let you all know how it goes. If the track is well prepped I'll tighten things up and maybe pull a 1.3something 60'r.

SteveW, Thanks for your followup response and the report on your continued success! The shackle info is interesting..... Unless I've mis-interpreted it - in the book "Door Slammers: The Chassis Book", it recommends that if you have a leaf rear suspension, you should LENGTHEN the rear shackles by 1.0"(new shackles of 5/16" material X 2.5" wide) for improved 'action' allowing better weight transfer... Anyone with any thoughts on this matter? Ryan

Yes, it has Cal-Tracs, glass springs, and adjustable Rancho shocks in the video.
