Went to the track rental today with my 70 Mach1 408c. First pass, blew the tires of 2.72 60 ft. 13.76. Second pass 1.99 60 ft, 12.66 @114mph Third pass hit second gear, backend hooked to the right, touched the center line, almost hit the other car. Brought it back in my lane and the car was bouncing back and forth and allmost lost it. Posi unit not working. Only heated right tire. Engine has great power and I think it will go deep in the 11's when I get it fixed. RAY------------------ RAY, THE WISE A@@ PHILLY GUY!!!! 428 rwhp is a handful, huh? After dumping out the draws, you have to say to yourself, "jeez, let's do that again!!"Will meatier slicks fit? ------------------ -Paul 70 Mach1 351C 79 Ranchero GT 97 Expedition XLT 5.4 00 SVT f150 Lightning 4149 of 4966 Born on: 06/26/2000 'life's tough... it's tougher if you're stupid.'

I don't think I can get a bigger tire under it. These are three year old Hoosier Quick Times that have been run on the street for three years. I think they are somewhat dried out. The posi unit not working was the biggest problem. With a Detroit locker and some true slicks 28x11 I don't think I'll have a problem. Other than a spool, is there anthing other than a Detroit Locker that will work? RAY------------------ RAY, THE WISE A@@ PHILLY GUY!!!! Ray glad you didn't get hurt. What kinda of launches were you able to do? I wish I had that problem too.TO MUCH POWER it must be nice. Ray I think with the locker and even 10 slicks you'll be there. Did you get any pictures,I'd love to see your car making a pass. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

Spool and street don't like each other and since it looks like your ride will be seeing dual duty, the Detroit Locker and some new weenies are a starting point for sorting that monster out. They sound neat going around corners too.------------------ -Paul 70 Mach1 351C 79 Ranchero GT 97 Expedition XLT 5.4 00 SVT f150 Lightning 4149 of 4966 Born on: 06/26/2000 'life's tough... it's tougher if you're stupid.'
