 | posted 05-02-2003 08:36 AM Just curious how to get the deepest sound possible out of my 302's exhaust, (I have long tube headers & nothing beyond that, its rusted & pulled off) by deep I obviously mean a real 'bass' low pitch. Any tips? Does diameter of the pipe make any difference in depth or just loudness? Loudness or quietness does not matter to me , just want a really deep sound. Why? I dont know I just think it would sound like the big block that I couldnt afford to fuel.

Bigger pipes will give you more of a rumble, for the same reason a tuba is deeper than a trumpet, but remember that bigger pipes mean less bottom end torque. In other words, would you rather sound tough, or be tough? ------------------'70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150
