Well the little truck finally got to see the track. Its a '90 mazda B-2200, 302 and c-4. All we have around here are 1/8 tracks but not too bad for our first try at this. Best run of the day was 8.43 @86.012 mph. The 3500 stall will only hold to about 2100, have a new PTC converter to go in this week and will have a new set of rear rubber for the next round. The 60' times pretty well suck as it spins a little off the line. Best 60' was 2.085. We'll see what happens with the changes next time

Thanks. I hope to get into the mid 7's when all is said and done. The new stall will stage @ 3000 and launch @ 4500, that should make things interesting if I can get it to hook. We'll see

CJR, What are you running at the back, a 8.8" or 9" rearend? What else in the way of traction aids are you using? What size/type of new rear rubber are you going to go with? What have you done to loosen up the front end? As you said, 7's aren't too far away - but you have to get it to hook,,,,,,, Ryan

Hey Bro did you go to the track this weekend? I think the converter and new slicks will help in the traction dept. and the 60 ft. times. What size tires did you order? I have to get to the track with my toy if the rain ever quits.------------------ Mike 66' Mustang,289,4 speed overdrive. 95' Lightning #2218 65' Mustang,Tubbed, Rear cage ladder bars / coil over's, 5.13:1 N-case 9in.31 spline, 302, soon to be a 4 speed.

If you have a front sway bar remove it and it should help take weight off the front end, and maybe help the front end transfer weight to the back better by letting the front end rise up more on launch. Good luck getting it hooked up. If you're having fun that's the name of the game!!! Mike

Its a 9" 4:11 rear, we found a set of MT 11.5 28" slicks today, we'll see how they work, sway bar has been removed, right now its not spinning too bad with circle track slicks so we're hoping for the best with good rubber. Yep bro I got to make my first passes sunday, I think I might be hooked!!!!

Mike, right now they are stock mazda shocks, I need to find a good place to get some 90/10's and build some shock brackets to adapt them to the little truck.

yup some 90/10s would help. try the new slicks first, they may fix most of your problem. remember, only make one change at a time. if you make 2, one may work and the other one make things worse cancelling the good one out. good luck------------------ mike r racing is real everything else is just a game. 81 capri-7.51 @89mph 1/8 1.54 60 ft. http://prestage.com/site/site_display.asp?SiteID=141

The converter is in and the slicks should be here in the morning. Hopefully it don't rain tomorrow so we can give it a try. Scoop: I have a pic of the ugly little beast if you want it. Mike: Thanks for the advice

Not boring at all bro, but its has its disappointments!!!! The new PTC converter does NOT operate as advertised. Its is supposed to stage at 3000 and flash to 4500, tonight it was lucky to hold at 2400 and no launch at all. There were some positive notes though, we turned 2 8.22 passes with the new slicks with no tire spin and had consistant 1.90 60 ft times but its just not what we were hoping for with the converter. Has anyone else had similar problems with new converters, is there a break in period for them?[This message has been edited by CJR (edited 04-30-2003).]
