Hey All,

We added the 4 hole space today and the motor idled a lot higher (1500rpm) afterwards.

I adjusted the idle speed back down to 1000 but when in gear, it doesn't want to idle correctly and just dies. I had to bring the idle speed back up a little to prevent it from dying. We used 2 gaskets. 1 under the spacer and 1 over the spacer. The nuts were tightened well.

Is this normal or vacuum leak maybe? I'm not sure where the vacuum leak would be coming from though. I am sure the nuts are secure.

Oh and we're using a 1850-2 600cfm Holley, an original FoMoCo 4 hole spacer, and a Edelbrock torker II manifold.

It sounds like a vacuum leak, the gaskets can be a bit small for the 4 hole spacers causing the leak, at least it was on mine. Is the spacer new or used ? all vacuum lines hooked up ? Do you have the nipple on the spacer that the vacuum line goes to, and if so is it hooked up ? Also the vacuum line itself could have a split in it, another problem I had with mine ( new line ). Just a few thoughts, hope it helps you good luck.

I see now that you have an original spacer ( started to answer and the phone rang, been on it for awhile ), check the gasket, I had to make my own. Now I have no problems.
