I had a great chance today to race a 69 firebird.I just told the guy to take it the track. I will still play alittle if every thing is the way I want it. Track racing is so much more fun anyways. If only they would build a track closer to Reno.2 hour or more drive in the 65 is to much to do all the time. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

Now I didn't say I didn't play with the firebird alittle. Neal, more like fear of hurting some one else.Or having my car taken away. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

Street raacing is pretty pointless anyway. Street cars are not set up right and are easy pickin. Way waaay back I realized this when my 2bbl 289 Mustang waxed a big block Corvette. If you want a challenge, come to the track, otherwise you are just pi$$in in the wind.John

The street play today is way different that years ago. Nowadays, around these parts anyway, you fishtail or simply squeal your tires more than a little chirp and the law will be ON you! Not that long ago, I had the gal at the local gas station call the law on me just cause when I left the station, I left sorta alittle sideways (Oopps!). An hour later, a county-mounty stopped at my house to ask me if it was me and "the reported car that met the discription of mine" that left the gas station "recklessly"....I wanted to say, "That wasn't reckless, you know how long I've been practicing that move?!", but I didn't dare say that..... Although I've done my share of 'playing on the streets' over the years - which was lots of fun and I never hurt anyone or my car doing it, the amount of $$$ in tickets, lawyer fees and extra insurance costs (as a result of the 'driving points' I "earned") would easily exceed the current value of my '85 ragtop 5.0L! These days, I try to use the local track to 'get it out of my system' with my '69 Mach. Even though this is a rural area, it's probably still safer and less co$tly too! Ryan

Ryan it's the same around here. When I was teenager all they would do is tell you to go home. Now that had on the news sometime back if your street racing you WILL lose your car! And your right about the price tickets today. So I try to be good and save it for the track. The days of Edison street are long gone. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html
