Left Lane: Scott Geoffrion Runs 6.904/200.50, Now #1
Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.937/198.50, Now #2

We have the first 200 mph pass at "The Strip" and it is in a Ford.

Vegas is an "high altitude" track too. Nice to see Fords back in ProStock.

Scott picked it up to a 6.89 in round 3 or qualifying. Quickest time of the round in the heat.
He is now in the #3 position.

It is nice to see a Ford up towards the top in a super competetive class. It is extremely hard just to qualify! It looks like the Escort has a better aero package than the Mustang and it must be a good chssis too! Where is Robert Patrick and his Mustang? I think that is his first name! He seemed to qualify a few times and even go a round or two last year. Did he give it up or is he maybe going to the Escort body style?

This is the first time Grant has qualified for a race since Denver 1998. Johnson turned on the red light and Grant with the easy win here

This is the second time this year these two have raced in the first round with Krisher winning the first time in Pomona. Overall Allen has won 8 out of their 11 meetings.

Warren is out of the gate first and never looked back and Alderman slowed as he had some problems. Warren with the quickest pass of the weekend and track ET record.

He will have lane choice over Krisher in round two.

Gene Wilson qualifies for his first time this year in the Dodge Stratus. Wilson was first off the line, but Johnson was able to chase him down by 330 feet. Kurt will have lane choice in round two over Edwards. Kurt with the track mph record here.

The current points leader Anderson faces off against reigning Pro Stock Champion Coughlin for the second time this year. Anderson won the first match up, but Jeg leads overall with a 9 and 6 record.
Coughlin with a big starting line advantage, but Anderson was able to chase him down around half track and take the win by about 10 feet. This is the first round win in Las Vegas for Anderson. This is second time this year Jeg has lot in the first round.

Anderson will have lane choice over Grant in the next round.
