We have the first 200 mph pass at "The Strip" and it is in a Ford.

Scott picked it up to a 6.89 in round 3 or qualifying. Quickest time of the round in the heat. It is nice to see a Ford up towards the top in a super competetive class. It is extremely hard just to qualify! It looks like the Escort has a better aero package than the Mustang and it must be a good chssis too! Where is Robert Patrick and his Mustang? I think that is his first name! He seemed to qualify a few times and even go a round or two last year. Did he give it up or is he maybe going to the Escort body style?

The current points leader Anderson faces off against reigning Pro Stock Champion Coughlin for the second time this year. Anderson won the first match up, but Jeg leads overall with a 9 and 6 record. Coughlin with a big starting line advantage, but Anderson was able to chase him down around half track and take the win by about 10 feet. This is the first round win in Las Vegas for Anderson. This is second time this year Jeg has lot in the first round. Anderson will have lane choice over Grant in the next round.
