Seems to working good.I got the trans fixed on monday.Drove the car for about 30mins on tuesday. It really pulls better then it did before.I shift at 4800rpm but it feels like it's still pulling. The trans guy took my car for a test drive. He said he could not believe that it's same car he drove last year. I set the timing at 14 and total is at 32 right now. The plugs look more lean then before the cam change.I think it's close to right now.

That's good news Scoop. I had been wanting to hear what you thought about the cam. That's the one I was thinking about going with but I'm not sure now since I got the Windsor Jr heads. May just go with the Comp 270H.

You should get the 270H.The only reason I didn't go with the 270H is I wanted to use my old heads and parts.

Right on Scoop! You'll be tuning more power into it for some time to come . I'm still finding more bottled up in mine, and its been almost a year back on the road ok... so i'm a little slow ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html

fastymz, what cam did you get? Did you also change the stall and valve springs? and does it make power for the street (stop light to stop light) or do you have to wind it up to higher rpms before it starts to pull good?

It's the performer cam I used my stock push rods and lifters and springs with it.My stall was changed last year, with the new trans. It's great stop lite to stop lite. It's not a real high rev motor.I dont take it over 5000rpm. I did put long tube headers on it at the same time.So who knows whats making what power. It's a great small upgrade cam,for a stock motor. Now if I could get new heads I'd go for a bigger cam.

Have you tried setting timing at 16 and 34? That's where my performer combo ran best at, but it was just a little 289. ------------------ 1966 Mustang Coupe: Custom glass hood and BIG scoop sits atop a 289 stroked to 331 c.i., Steel crank and girdle, 5.4 H-beams, Forged slugs, TFS alum. heads, ported Stealth 8020 intake, Xtreme 274 Solid Roller, Holley 750 HP, long tubes, 4speed, 9" 3.50 posi. 2nd pass: 12.11 @ 114 mph DanH
