I have my timing set now to were it's at 35 at 2000 rpm is that to much to fast? Thats with a base timing at 10. Car seems slow until it gets to 2500rpm.Would the base timing change that?

Check the timing at at least 3500 RPM. 35-36 max with vaccum hose off.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." I forgot to take the vaccum hose off. I was just so dam happy that it started. And then so upset it leaked. That I should have just walked away for day. I'll check it out for 35-36 max at 3500 rpm. Thanks

If I remember correctly. That cam should like more base timing than 10*. I ran mine at around 16* base, and centrifugal advance should come in gradually until it reaches about 36* total at about 3000 rpms. It will feel much stronger if you can get your base timing higher and get your advance curve set right. It runs? COOL! Bummer about the t-cover I've got my timing at 34* overall, with these heads and cam it seems to be happiest there ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html

I used the cam that summit racing sales in it's kit with lifters. It's the same cam as the perfromer cam. My heads are just old stock heads,in need of a valve job.------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html
