How long should I leave a newly rebuilt engine sit? I have to get some front end work done before I can drive my truck again. It would be easier to do the front end stuff before installing the new engine, so I'm planning on waiting to install the new engine until then.

I'm mostly concerned with all the new parts rusting before I get the new motor in. Yep, stuff rusts that fast around here. Should I wait to rebuild the engine until I am ready to install it, or is there a way to keep it from rusting while it is waiting to be installed?

Thanks

Joe I think if you oil every thing well both inside and out it should be fine.

You can store a rebuilt engine for years. Get an engine bag for it from Summit, or use a very large garbage bag.
