Would the 66 motor and frame mounts help my headers fit better. I can't do the change over right now.But maybe next year,or when I have alittle cash. Can I just take the frame mounts from any 66 V8 car.And then buy new 66 motor mounts, and it all bolts up with out any problems. I was told that would lower my motor another 1" does any one know if thats ture. Thanks for the help. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

Scoop, I think the 66 mounts actually raise the motor about an inch. I know on the Hooker Header instructions, they require the 66 motor mounts because it gives the headers more room. I switched to them on my 65 351W conversion and they bolted right in. Ron, Matt, or whatever the heck your name is. LOL The Heddman's in the '66 back when it had a 351w in it needed to be modified. The collectors needed to be lowered 1/2". So, no don't use '66 mounts. The Hooker super comps didn't need to be modified. SteveW

So you cut them off just after the tubes come into them. And point them down and reweld them back on? I'm sorry if I don't get it,I sure wish Matt was here to help me. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

Yeah Matt's a lot smarter. He owns a store. LOL Yes angle them down, then your exhaust needs to angle up to meet them at a lower point. SteveW

I hate to take them off again. It's real hard for me to get my hands in to start the bolts. I might just see if I can turn the exhaust up to meet it. I only have 2.25 exhaust pipe so maybe it's work for now. I plan on redoing the system with 2.5 pipe next year. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

Thats the way i looked at it steve but i also had these headers on the 302 before the 351w and they fit nice with the 302.But after talking with Alex fit is not the only reason to switch to the HOOKERS.My headers for my other hotrod are going to cost $850 with no coating------------------ 69 fairlane 351w 12.94@103mph before M&M.. after?? always in search of more HP and faster ET'S Fstln69 Pics Page

So how bad is it if one of the primary tubes rest agaist the lower back side of the passenger shock tower.I can get a feeler gauge in there and thats it.The motor torques to the left if your facng it ?Or should take the ****ing header back off beat the ****ing **** out of that tube?
