Thanks,
I miss it from time to to time also. Had it almost 12 years. Got an e-mail this week from the new owner. He blew up the 383W (broken crank, unknown why, but a cast crank can't live forever) and just finished building a new 408, using all the top end from the 383. I'm more than ready to test the dragster. We've been in a rain every weekend cycle for about 7 weeks. This weekend looks very good, but I had already committed to the race car show. The pipe rack is stuck inside the mall until Sunday evening.

Later,
David Cole

It is a nice car. They bought it new in 1972. Made a race car out of it in 1982-83. Started out as a street-strip type with a 351C and 4 speed. Jeff started driving it that year at age 15. Won his very first race and hasn't looked back It has been updated over the years and now has an Alston chassis with a 4" stretched wheelbase. (notice the extra width between the door and front wheel well opening). Current power is an FRRP "W" block with C302B aluminum heads. 418 CI, dominator carb on gas and a Powerglide. Has a Mustang II style front suspension with a ladder bar/coil over rear. Run's 5.9-6.0's in the 1/8 very consistent and win's mucho $$

btw Dave, that is one nice ride! I'm a door slamer kinda guy... but thats just bad to the bone....

Not to take anything away from Roys ride either...

Your car reminds me of a Comet I had, dang, don't you just hate when you sell something that you should have... Comet GT Grabber Green 302 auto Hood scoop ect...

My kids have asked me to show them what it looked like, but I can't seem to find a photo on the Net that is like my car... and no I never took a photo of it

Dave,

Very Cool

I love the Mav and your "engine stand"

Heck all of them are very cool. I wanted to build a Mav in the worst way, but my son gave up on his project the Christmas before last and I'm getting close to completing it. Maybe after I get it right I'll move on and get my Maverick. LOL

Meanwhile, I'm in the middle of a '70 Dart w/440 RB power.
