i saw a firebird the other day and it the loudest sound i had ever heard from a car, i noticed there was no muffler/hpipe. i asked my friend about it he said i could do that to my 65 mustang but it would be illegal. do i need to saw the pipe off or loosen the nuts from the headers. also are there any dangers to not having that pipe there or would my car still be ok to drive?

You'd be better off having some exh cut outs welding in. That way you could open the exhaust or run it closed for street.------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

Depending what State your in and if the have yearly Auto inspection. Here in Va you will fail and have to remove the cut outs, your friend said it would be illegal.I would suggest if you want noise to get a set of 2 chamber Flowmasters instead. sam
