Just the battery wire from the alternator attached to the battery side of the switch.
This is not the best diagram to use, but, the big yellow-black is the 65-up diagram comes from the alternator to charge the battery. This is the wire you want to extend and attach to the batter side of the switch. The other wires in the photo have to do with regulating and 'exciting' the diodes to start the operation of the alternator.

Dose this sound right to you guys, because it makes sense to me.

So just make sure I'm reading it right I discounect the yellow black wire fron the back of the alt,run anew wire to the battery side of the cut off switch, and I should be home free,I hope.Tell what you guy think.

Yeah,

I just don't know if that wire to horns etc, might keep the engine running? Only one way to find out, remove the charging wire to the solenoid while the engine is running with the batt disconnected.

Hey didn't you say that already.
See I read what you write, but I just wont to be sure of what i'm doing before I do it.

On my car Steve the black and yellow wire runs right from the battery to the battery side of the starter soleniod. There is not T or junction box like in the pictures.
So I think it will work.I cant start the car right now I have to many things apart.
So I'll to see if one else has done this on a Ford alt with the voltage reg system.

Thanks Steve

OK, You're welcome.

Now has anyone done this with a regulator and amp gauge?
You're up....

Ok so how do I cut the field wire off with the switch???
Do I run two wires, one to the battery side and one to the kill side? And then back to the alt.
Or can I just tap into the field wire and run the tap wire back to the battery side of the switch.

Sorry about the never ending questions.

On cars with generators, the majority of them using a horn relay. This is why you see the wire to the horn.
