Positivly Scoop. You probably have more power on tap but just can't apply it. With some tires Steve can tune you up some and you should hit low 14's with no problem, if not a high 13.

This spring I'd like to meet up with you at Sac,Steve. It would be great to you look over the car and maybe help with tuning.
I'm working on getting some sticky tire by spring time.
I was hoping for low to mid 14's at Fallon this spring.
I can only stall the car up to about 2400-2700rpm.
If I could leave at peak stall with traction. At Fallon do you think I could see 14.5 or faster?
How about 100mph could I hit that too?

Ron,

MPH takes horsepower, so we can't help that with traction. Et can be lowered with traction, but not MPH.

As far as the spring meeting, sure just let me know when. Your curent converter is fine for your low rpm engine now, but if you bump up the power and as a result move your torque curve up too it may be too low.

Steve HP=MONEY.
I'll have to be happy this summer with the 90's mph.
I'll let you know about meeting this spring.I have to get some more things done to the 1st before I drive that far.
Now if your going to be in Fallon again let me know.

You need to race at a track with lower altitude. You already have a low 14 second car at sea level, right?

Not sure about low 14's at sea level maybe 14.6 or so as it is.
Steve I'd rather race at the altitude I live at.The lower number at sea level would be cool to post.
But something fun about racing at the were you live.
And seeing the improvements or setback at this altitude.I'm a 4000 plus feet kinda guy.

Ron,
I don't see why you couldn't run low 14's. We have similar setups but I have a heavier car, cast iron intake and exaust, 3:23 gears, and managed a 13.7 at 104 mph in the 1/4 mile. do you still have an open diff? what kind of gears? I'm building a strip set of 4:11 gears with a spool for track only; consider it. I would think you have enough horsepower now. I'll be waiting for your results.

Ron,

Do you have an electric fuel pump yet?

You don't need much to run a 75 shot. You'll need to do a little wiring and add an arming toggle switch and throttle switch (I have one) that'll energize it at w.o.t.

No electric pump, just a carter street pump.
The wiring I can handle, but can the motor handle the extra power?

You won't get a 75 h.p. increase probably less than 50. The extra power is nothing to worry about, but the possibility of going lean is something to worry about. That's why we need an elec pump.

SCOOP. I have faith in ya. I say you'll run a 13.98 this summer, at your home track. My prediction for the year

I used to live in Snowflake,AZ altitude ~7000 ft. When I lived in Tucson, not sure what altitude, but it's tons lower. My truck didn't run worth a damn up north, but was pretty healthy where the air was. You might be surprised and happy just to try your car out in a lower altitude track.
