I run a FMS 13" air cleaner to clear my MSD distributor, 2.750" element height. Is there a K&N equivilent? On their website, they list a 13" od with a 2.313" height (it's a Mercedes filter), and a 13.125 od w/ 2.75 height. Will the 13 1/8" element cram into my 13" air cleaner? ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html

Save your hard earned money Todd. K&N isn't worth anything over a high quality paper element. We tried them on the dyno. Motorcraft 14" vs K&N, Fram, and AC. M/C was best with A/C being most restrictive.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." No kidding! The element included in the kit is a Wix number, I'll see if I can cross it over to a M/C application
Scoop, the element is 13" od (dead nuts), and the housing isn't much bigger. It's not a tight fit, but I was skeptical about wether an extra 1/8" would squeeze in there, now I won't worry about it

Wix manufactures M/C's filters. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." The K&N Mercedes filter will fit. I used it as it was the lowest in height 13" element I could find. It let me fit a Vic Jr intake on a 351W in my 69 under a stock hood.A pic: Later, David Cole
