Hey All,

I scored on some new 5 leaf leaf springs and Prothane (polyureathane) bushings (front and rear). The leaf springs have new rubber bushings in them, but how do I remove them to install the nice fat prothane bushing? Machine shop? Instructions say I have to also remove the metal ring surrounding the rubber bushing.

I'll be selling my 5 leaf reverse eye springs (6mos. old and ~20 miles) when I get these suckers installed!!

I took mine to have them pressed out by a buddie of mine so I could install the poly ones. You can also drill a bunch of holes in the rubber and they will fall out.Or you can burn them out with a torch just dont get the spring too hot and dont inhale LOL.The poly bushing go in easy just make sure to use some teflon grease on them
or they will squeek.

Thanks Bob. I'll take them to the machine shop to get pulled. I could re-use them on another set i'm giving to my uncle.

Scoop, I originally bought the 5 leaf reverse eyes with a package deal (upper/lower control arms, 1" sway, 3/4" rear sway, ssbc disc brakes, 620lb springs, insulators, master cylinder, rear leafs, complete steering including steering box/column).

The reverse eye leafs are cool, but I want to fit more rubber underneath and sort of like my rear a bit higher. It sits pretty level as it is now.

Erik

p.s. I will reply later today.
