Se're shifting with a 6200 rpm light now, probably hits 6500 on the 1-2 shift. Gonna t&t it when I get back from a road trip next week. I want to kick it up a few hundred rpm and see if it has enough cam for it.

Here's some stats:
Rods - Eagle 6.250 4350 H-beam
Crank - Eagle 4340 forged knife edged
SRP pistons (flat tops)
Speed pro plasma moly rings
Cloyes Double Roller chain
Comp Solid roller cam 35-772-8 286/292 248/254 @ .050 .610/621 lift lsa 110, c/l 106, installed at 105, overlap 69 degrees @ .015"
Heads - Edelbrock Victor Jr's 2.05/1.60 valves
Rockers - Harland Sharp aluminum rollers
Springs - 195#s closed 350+ @ .600
Intake - Edelbrock Victor Jr. ported to heads
Fully balanced
Milodon pan & pick up
MSD billet Distributor
Race c-4 w/ 9" converter 4600 stall
spooled 9" rear
10" MT et drag slicks
4.5" MT et drag fronts
It's best muffled is 10.82 in the 1/4 mile.

See ya all in a week or so and thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Steve, based on what we already know, that bad a$$ 408 SHOULD make power all the way to 7200 RPM. That would dictate a shift point of about 6800 to 7000.

I'd think that engine oughta hang together past 7500 anyways, might not go any faster past 7000 though.

Thanks for the input everyone! I'm back and I'll drive it this Wednesday night and try a higher shift point or two.
