Some of the spacers have a hole in them on the side, like some kind of hose is supposed to go there. what do I do about that? How much is the spacer going to help my car run better, is it worth any HP? thanks[This message has been edited by FASTFORD (edited 10-21-2002).]

The hole is for a vaccum nipple to be used for power brakes or a PCV. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." I had the open 1" on my 289 with the autolite 4100 1.08 venturi. Changed to the 4 hole 1" and it does work better for my car , don,t really know why , but , it does. JOHN

thanks a lot...I'll get a 1", 4-hole spacer and plug the vacuum hole. Sounds like a cheap and easy mod. Just one more thing...Can I expect any horsepower or anything else from this...in other words, what are the benefits of a carb spacer? Thanks again

Me too.... what spacer should I run? Currently I don't have room for any, but I'm looking into getting a CJ scoop and cutting the hood underneath shortly. It's a 351C 4V running a torker and holley 770. The cam's 244/[email protected]"

On a Cleveland you definitly need a 4 hole spacer. It gave me a little more bottom end torque. At least the 60 ft time relected it. It also makes it more responsive.

It strengthens the vacuum signal {pull} at the base of your throttle bores, making your idle transfer slots work better.
