I had a decent weekend. I didnt brake anything, sort of. The car did run real good . I only won a couple of rounds.

First of all, saturday the air was pretty good. First time trial pass, the car left good, I had a .525 light, (mediocre). What was cool, it had a 1.333 60' time, and ran 6.251 @ 107.99 mph. Cool! That was the fastest pass the car had ever made. Next pass, .503 light (much better), 1.336 60', and 6.242 @ 108.4 mph. Really cool! On to elims, first round I had a better light (I had to cross over, had a .522) than my opponent, drove around him, hit the brakes, 6.25 on a 6.23. Next round, I had to cross over again, since the light the first round wasnt real good, I took .005 out of the box, Oops. .497 red light. Oh well.

Sunday, the air was better yet. First pass, I found the limits of hp my car will take. found it by stepping over that line. It yanked the front wheels real hard, started to turn hard left with the wheels a foot off the ground, and I lifted not liking the idea of running over the tree. (Truthfully, it did spook me, I didnt like it, and I know KK didnt like watchin it either). So, to take some hit away, we turned the 2 step down from 4400 rpm, to 3800 rpm. Next pass, 1.327 60', 6.18 @ 109.5 mph. HOLY COW!!!! I never dreamed it would run that fast. On the qrtr mile, I figure that would have gotten me into the 9.80's.

But, 3rd round, I had a fast dragster, and went .496 to his .496.

I really need to tie the front subframe and shock towers into the rest of the cage to stiffen the car up.

Yeah, a bit of one upsmanship goin on.

With the great air Sun. morning, the Falcon went 6.19 at 110 MPH the first pass. The best the car had ever done with the previous owner was 6.30.

It had to do that on my very first full power pass! Scared the bejesus out of me!

The second pass was 6.22 at 111 MPH. I got through the day without breakin anything or having a coronary. I'm happy.

Now for that truck load of parts I got with the car.

DV,

I thought you were going to take it slow with the new falcon?

Temptation is hard to resist ain't it?

Good run DV.

And what HE ain't tellin you is the guy I was running red lit.

I didn't have a light better than .750 in 4 runs, but I didn't even know how to change the box yet and was not at all consistent. I was just trying to get down the track and get a feel for things.

6.19 was quite a rush. A 1.35 60 foot was a large kick in the pants, too.

I couldn't believe it when that came up on the scoreboard. I was shakin so bad when I got back to the trailer I couldn't read the timeslip.

The car was great. It launches flat and hooks even without much of a burnout. My first pass included almost no burnout. Got messed up on the shift.

Anyway, I can't wait for next season.

And so did the guy I ran in the first round. A win is a win regardless of how it happens.

Absolutely right!!

He probably redlit because you intimidated him and he thought he'd need a .50 light to win.
Good job guys!
