Dose lowering the tire pressure in my BFG radials help.I have read that the side walls dont give enough to get any effect from lowering the air pressure in a radial tire. When I was at the track,I went from 30to20 pounds in the rear tires and it didn't change anything. As far as helping wheel spin.It rides better at 22lbs then at 30lbs.SCOOP ------------------

You want as much contact p[atch as possble. The best way to do this, is to find a stretch of road where no one is around, and do some burnouts. Try one at 30 lbs, get out and look at the black mark. You want the black mark to be solid clear across. It is possible if the tire pressure gets too low, the center of the tread will "pull up" causing the center of the tire to not touch the ground. That will be evident by the black mark having a real lighter shade in the center, or no mark at all. When you do it, dont get excessive with it, just enough to leave a mark. You dont want to kill your tires finding out how much is best in them. At least, that's my opinion.

i have never ran street tires but all i have read about them said to run your normal pressure in them. just do enough burnout to clean and dry them and run!!------------------ mike r racing is real everything else is just a game. 81 capri-7.51 @89mph 1/8 1.54 60 ft. http://prestage.com/site/site_display.asp?SiteID=141

To check your contact patch you can simply drive over a peice of paper under each tire. A radial keeps its shape thru a wide range of tire pressures. They suck for drag racin too. You want a tire with the lowest wear rating possible (softer rubber) you don't want one that's good for 60,000 miles. Drag radials are lucky to live for 6,000 miles, and they suck too. SteveW

Ok guys the only reason I shy away from a slicks is that I dont want so much traction that I start to break stuff.I know you cant have it all.I'm kinda looking for a happy medium.A tire thats good for the street, and for traction off the line. So ARE there any good drag tires,or whats the best street strip tire out there????SCOOP ------------------ 2.634 60's [email protected] 1/8 mile 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html
