Gonna take the racecar to Eddyville today. Normally, I'm all keyed up for going to the track, but not today. With all the extra stressfull sh*t goin' on in my life, I cant seem to find the normal enthusiasm for going. I still want to go, but it's not the same. Hopefully, once I get there, and get acclimated to the car again, everything will be fine.

Well, it wasnt a stellar performance by an means. First pass, I put my baseline setting in the box, .509 lite, 1.345 60', 6.30 @ 106.98 mph. WOW! I have no idea where that came from, fastest pass pf the year. Next pass, same setting in th box, .555 lite, 1.375 60', 6.342 @ 106.6 mph. Umm...maybe I missed, next pass, took .005 out of the box, .530 lite, 6.339. Now I'm worried, I cant find the tree. Last time run, I take .010 out, put 5 lbs of air in each front tire figuring it will redlite, yep, .491, but the car then ran 6.351. Great, now the car is running all over the map. First round, the sun goes behind the clouds, so I put .012 in the box, and a 6.33 on the window. Nope, I missed again, .553 lite, and the car runs 6.37 flat out. Obviously not my day, but I buyback anyways. I take .005 out, dial 6.35, and WOW, I win the round with a .521 lite and run 6.37 on teh brakes. Next round, .513 lite, run 6.367 on the 6.35 dial, not too bad. But the guy I run has a .508, and goes 5.888 on a 5.88 dial. I got beat. No excuses for that. The best part of the night, was after everyhting was done. My buddy I race with who has teh mustang 2, had his black 93 Lightning there. So we asked if we could line them up before they took the tree down, and they said yes. My truck has approximatley 90K more miles on it than his does, and I think that helped mine hook better. My 60' was a 2.17 to his 2.35, and I ran 9.87 at 69.9 mph to his 10.18 @ 69.2 mph.

I never got a chance to talk to him. But it seems he's only like that during that race. He's always real good to the "regulars" on a weekly basis, and thats why the local racers are all very loyal to him. I noticed last year he wasnt real good to the IHRA folks either. And actually, that kind of suprised me.

Rob,your truck is faster them my 65. There was a Lightning running here in Reno he only turned a 10.8 in the 1/8. Sounds to me like the race car ran pretty good.Bummer on that last race a 5.888 on a 5.88,hard to beat that.SCOOP ------------------

Dang Kid,Even though you lost, your times and skills are pretty impressive!! Those 60'er are real low too!! Do you leave after the 2nd yellow light or at the same time the 3rd yellow lights? Also, how did you anticipate your were gonna redlight on the last run? Erik ------------------ 1966 Ford Mustang 2+2 Mine - Restomod in Progress 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe Dad's - Original Unrestored

When I run the no box class, I leave after teh last yellow has lit. Lately though, I have been running nothing but the delay box class. That means, I let go of the button for the transbrake on the top yellow. The reason I expected to red lite that last time run, was because I took alot of time out of the box trying to red lite so I could see how well I was picking the lite up for the day. Most of those lites, I had saturday, were pretty poor for a delay box race.
