I just sat down to take a bit of a break and turn on Speed Channel. What's on? More Nascar stuff? I hit the guide to see what's on later? More Nascar stuff! Now I'm a pretty big Nascar fan and all, but really now. An entire network called Speed Channel devoted to almost exclusivly to Nascar??? When did Bill France buy it? It was bad enough when they had all of the airplane stuff, but now it's rediculous. Doesn't anyone feel the same way as I do about this? I mean I can dig Motorcycle Tuesday, but the rest of the week is 90% Nascar. Who can we write to and didn't we all do this once before? Wasn't there a nationwide campain to get them to have more variety in their programing? Didn't the results reflect the vast majority wanted more diversity in motorsports broadcasting? ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl

I herd that they increased their NASCAR coverage because of the popularity of the sport. I also herd there is a totaly NASCAR channel in proces.I don't have Speed channel and you don't realy get that much coverage of it on expanded basic bable. There is RPM tonight that shows some on it's half hour schedule thow they also throw in Motocross,Openwheel and Indy/IRL.There is also Totaly NASCAR(1/2 hr)wich is interupted with 5 minutes worth of Baseball/Football/Basketball. I probably won't get digital cable or satelite anytime soon. I already pay darn close to $40 a month for cable and that is about $20 too much as far as I am concerned!!! I feel like I am gettin stroked and I don't even get the sex channels. Why can't they have a NASCAR-AND-Drag Racing Network??? Without interuptions about some friggin Basketball/Football score. How many times have you seen a Basketball game interupted by a live 5min update of how good your favorite driver was doing??? ESPN/ESPN2/FOX Sports Net are forcing Baseball,Basketball,Football,Hockey and lately Soccer down my throwt.Fact is I could care less,I can't stand that crap. Just for the record, Girls on Trampolines is the best thing to happen to modern television

I'm with Ron. I say we all boycott speed channel and watch the MAN SHOW or Trish on WWE ( get the F out ) What is Nascar anyway? what ever happened to calling it Stock car racing? Nascar sounds like a moon vehicle. Hey I got an idea why can't the MAN show have Trish Stratus on in a thong AND have DRAG RACING all day? I bet if you took a poll alot of folks could dig it. Jerry

Yup, Speedchannels non -Nascar coverage is pretty weak. I couldn`t cars less about "stick&ball" sports,& since you can`t get ESPN up here in Canada (without a dish), we don`t get the NHRA show,& Canada`s TSN was airing the NHRA National events, although I haven`t seen one for about a month. There are only a few regular SC features I like, "Car&Track", "My Classic Car"& "Dream Car Garage". Sometimes "Car Crazy" is OK, but I`m not that much into Pebble Beach concours type features about Dusenbergs, or Buggatti`s. Another thing I hate about SpeedChannel is all the Infomercials!! Does anyone really fall for this crap!? Vacumn zit removers?,Be a real estate baron, with no money? I`m thinking about cancelling the extra cable "tier" that I bought specifically for SpeedVision, oooops I mean SpeedChannel.------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@130mph 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA Stocker under construction, 302 5 speed

It's either NASCAR or road rally's the only thing I really look for is Inside dragracing, and they keep moving that earlier so when I git home from work it' half over. They could due a hour show it's not like the other carshow productinfomerals you see.

Yeah, it is all NASCAR during prime time. If you stay up late though, you can still catch some good stuff. And on the weekends there is usually an F1 race or CART race on. ------------------ -Charlie Ping 1970 Maverick Grabber [email protected] with AC and overdrive. http://www.maverickgrabber.com

Another direction is to contact your cable provider. If you inform them that at the time you signed for their service, there had been excellent coverage of events of interest but now that they changed their format, you have no reason to continue using their services and are considering going to satelite. The mention of Satelite really gets their hackles.------------------ Making Power is a skill, controlling it is an art abusing it is deadly.

My AT&T Broadband just raised the price by $3 a month and pulled Speed Channel from the basic digital pkg. Now they want an extra $5 to get it in a new package. They have a feedback contact at speedvision.com so I let them know that I'm not paying the bump. I'm going back to basic cable- no digital. I'll have to rely on then internet for my info.

I can remember waiting weeks to see the Indy NHRA Nationals on ABC's Wide World of Sports! It usually came on TV after the magazine coverage hit the stands so I knew who won. It was still a thrill to see it on TV. Did you see Big Daddy shave his beard?Tracy

ahhh yes.... the good old days when Wide World of Sports "spanned the globe" to bring us US Nationals. I think i'd was the sole reason for my love of Ski Jumping and Womens Figure Skating We'd sit thru 20 minutes of that, then get 5 minutes of Garlits vs Kalitta, then back to Innsbruck for more ski stuff for the next half hour, and then get Glidden beating Iaconio for a few seconds. Is Inside Drag Racing on Speed Channel? I haven't seen it
