In the last 6 months I have gone through a red holley pump and a blue holley pump. This time the blue pump gave out on the shaft seal and was GUSHING out fuel and it got me kicked off a ferry ( I work on an Island ) , I had to hobble back to a NAPA and put on a cheapo square type electric pump in the dark and to put it mildly I am not happy with noisy Holley CRAP anymore. Who makes a decent QUIET electric pump that will handle 450 HP . Are the Mallory pumps any good or the Carters. Whats going to last? 2 pumps in 6 months is excessive to me.

BAC,You can feed 450 hp with a quality mechanical fuel pump. Give it a try, they are quiet too. SteveW

I just ordered up a mallory 110gpm 7 PSI electric pump. I'll let you know how it works when it gets here. Pricey pump but they are supposed to be a LOT quieter than the holleys.

I woldnt mind a decent mechanical pump if it were a high volume job but theres not too many options for the 351 Cleveland for some reason. Ive got a holley chrome pump that used to be on it but its not one I'd put a lot of stock in . I believe in overkill in a fuel system is better than not enough when you need it.

Talk about overkill, a 110 gallon per minute pump can empty your tank in about 8 seconds. Was that a typo? SteveW
